The Merchants Association was profiled recently in an article in the Rockdale Citizen.

From that article:

CONYERS — This year local residents may have noticed several new activities cropping up in Olde Town Conyers, events such as a farmers market and Lunch on the Lawn in the Pavilion and the Olde Town Bazaar on Center Street. A music showcase is scheduled at the pavilion on Aug. 27. There’s talk of planning a street festival.

Credit the Olde Town Merchants Association, loosely formed last fall by a group of business owners and spearheaded by Greg Burch, co-owner of the Celtic Tavern.

When Burch saw a need to get merchants in the Olde Town historic district organized to work with city officials to improve the district, he paid a visit to City Hall.

“I walked into (City Manager) Tony Lucas’ office and discussed forming a merchants group with him,” Burch recalled. “Tony was very receptive, and we discussed it at length. I thought it went very well.”

The entire article can be read at The Citizen.
